NOTE:
  • A version of most of the information below is available in the relevant product installation guides and readme.txt files. However, the original McAfee Product and Installation Guides are unlikely to reflect the most recent McAfee support policy for those platforms as Microsoft releases new operating systems or Service Packs on a regular basis.
  • This article aims to contain the latest information. Some of this is made available via linked Product Management statements which are also published in the McAfee KnowledgeBase.
  • Support for operating system Service Packs is generally in sync with these Service Packs being supported by their manufacturer.
Microsoft Windows Supported Operating Systems
The following tables list the McAfee products supported for use on Windows workstation and server operating systems.

For general information on VirusScan Enterprise support for new releases of Microsoft Windows, see KB60777.

Workstation Operating Systems

NOTE:
  • Where applicable, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are implied. Exceptions are noted explicitly.

Supported Engine version(s)
Because of the risks involved in running an out of date and untested Engine, McAfee will start actively enforcing the End of Life policy for older Engines in the near future. This will be done by disabling .DAT file updates for these Engines. This will initially affect Engine version 5200 and earlier.
